ENSEMBLES

The Falcon Vanguard is the primary athletic band and outdoor performance ensemble at East River. The Courtside Players is our smaller, indoor athletic band that performs at basketball games and other indoor sporting events.

East River has two Jazz Ensembles and they are open to all students who play a big band instrument. Specializing in all types of music including swing, Latin, rock, and funk, the jazz program has a busy performance schedule. Admission to either Jazz Ensemble is by audition and director recommendation.

The Guard Program is comprised of the marching color guard and the Winter Guard. The guard is active all year and participates in many events throughout the year including all marching band events, FFCC Competitions, and F.B.A. District and State Auxiliary Assessments.

At East River, we have two performing concert band ensembles: the Wind Ensemble and the Symphonic Band. Both concert ensembles perform at Music Performance Assessment and multiple concerts per year.

Our percussion department includes marching battery, marching front ensemble, concert percussion, jazz percussion, and indoor percussion ensemble. They are very active as members of all of our major ensembles and by performing for many other events on campus. The Percussion Ensemble performs at MPA.

At East River High, we have many Chamber ensembles including woodwind choir, brass choir, percussion ensemble, and numerous smaller performing groups. Many of these ensembles are student organized and led. The larger choir ensembles are conducted by the music faculty.
