A Brief History of the ERHS Band Program
East River High School has had 15 years of musical excellence. In the past, we have had bands with over 100 members and have a long line of Superior and Excellent ratings at District and State assessments. The band has appeared in many competitions, festivals, and parades around Florida. The East River High School Regiment has received Superior ratings at 13 of the 14 District Marching Band Music Performance Assessments (M.P.A.s) in which they have participated.

In the past, the marching band has won top honors in numerous F.M.B.C. regional and state competitions and appeared twice at Bands of America competitions. In addition, we also have a tradition of Superior Concert and Jazz Bands at East River High School. We have received a Superior rating at the F.B.A. District Concert Band M.P.A. and the F.B.A. Jazz Band M.P.A. many times and our Jazz Ensemble 1 received a State Superior in 2022 and 2024. The Concert Bands have performed many concerts including grade IV – VI band literature. The E.R.H.S. Band has had numerous students selected for All-County Band, All-County Jazz, U.C.F. Knights Rising Honors Band, and the Florida All-State Bands.
We are very proud of our students and look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence in the years to come!

The Instructional Staff of the East River High School Band works hard to provide all students in the program with a high-quality music education. All staff members are either ERHS faculty members or are professional independent contractors who have been vetted through OCPS.
